Natural lake at Florala
Lake Jackson map
Lake Jackson is a natural lake on the Alabama–Florida line in the city of Florala, in Covington County. ADEM’s reservoir inventory calls it naturally formed, which sets it apart from every dammed pool on this list. It is not Lake Jackson at Florala’s namesake in another state, and it is not a PowerSouth project.
No dam to name
Gantt Lake and Point A Lake are the hydroelectric reservoirs in this same county, on the Conecuh River near Andalusia and Gantt. Lake Jackson has no powerhouse and no lock. ADEM does not assign it a dam. A map of Lake Jackson is a map of that border shoreline through Florala, including the Florida side the lake crosses. This page does not quote an acreage, because the sources used for the Conecuh reservoirs did not give a Jackson figure worth repeating.
Who a Lake Jackson map is for
Choose this page for Florala and the state-line lake, including a family gift for someone from that town. Choose Gantt or Point A if the house is on the Conecuh. There is a better-known Lake Jackson in Florida’s panhandle, near Tallahassee, so search “Lake Jackson, Florala, Alabama” and check that the preview shows the state line, not Leon County, Florida.
