Blackburn Fork of the Little Warrior River
Inland Lake map
Inland Lake is a drinking-water reservoir in Blount County, not one of the navigation pools on the main Black Warrior. ADEM places it on the Blackburn Fork of the Little Warrior River. The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources lists it near Oneonta, at 1,536 surface acres, maintained by the Birmingham Water Works.
A water-supply lake above the Warrior pools
Inland sits in the Warrior basin, but it is a city supply reservoir the way Lake Purdy is on the Little Cahaba and Lake Tuscaloosa is on the North River. It is not Smith Lake, which is Alabama Power’s Sipsey Fork storage lake in Cullman, Walker, and Winston counties, and it is not Bankhead Lake west of Birmingham. The conservation department’s acreage, 1,536 acres, is the figure used here because that table names the operator and the nearby town together.
