Harris Lake map
Harris Lake, also called Lake Wedowee, is an Alabama Power reservoir on the Tallapoosa River. State hydro tables date R.L. Harris Dam to 1983 and place it near Wedowee in Randolph County. Alabama Power’s shoreline guide lists the lake in Randolph and Clay counties under the name Harris (Wedowee).

The shoreline guide lists 9,780 acres, 367 miles of shoreline, and a full pool of 793 feet. Alabama Power’s hydro page lists a maximum depth at the dam of 121 feet. The company classes Harris as a storage lake and names Wadley as its flood-control point, the way it names Gadsden for Neely Henry and Cordova for Smith. Lake Martin, the next large Tallapoosa reservoir downstream, is a separate 1926 pool with a full pool of 491 feet, so the two maps are not interchangeable.
