R.E. “Bob” Woodruff Lake map
R.E. “Bob” Woodruff Lake, also called Jones Bluff, is the upstream navigation pool on the Alabama River. Auburn University’s Water Resources Center says the Robert F. Henry Lock and Dam divides Autauga County and Lowndes County, and that this reservoir is one of three Corps lakes on the river. The other two are William “Bill” Dannelly Reservoir at Millers Ferry and Claiborne Lake.

Auburn’s basin note says the three Alabama River dams were built so a nine-foot channel could run from Mobile to Wetumpka. Jordan Lake, near Wetumpka, is still on the Coosa, above the confluence with the Tallapoosa. Woodruff is the first pool after the Alabama River has formed.
