Cedar Creek
Cedar Creek Reservoir map
Cedar Creek Reservoir is the newest of TVA’s four Bear Creek lakes in northwest Alabama. The project assessment dates the dam to 1979 and places it at Cedar Creek mile 23.1 in Franklin County, between Red Bay and Russellville. Like the other three dams in this watershed, it does not generate electricity.
Last of the four dams
The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources lists Cedar Creek Reservoir at 4,200 surface acres, near Russellville. TVA finished it in 1979, a decade after Bear Creek Reservoir and a year after Upper Bear Creek. Like the other three, it is not a hydroelectric dam. The state table’s acreage is for this Franklin County pool, not a combined total for the Bear Creek watershed.
Who a Cedar Creek map is for
A Cedar Creek map is for the shoreline between Red Bay and Russellville. If the house is on the 670-acre Bear Creek Reservoir closer to Red Bay and Hackleburg, that is a different lake and a different page. Search “Cedar Creek Reservoir, Franklin County, Alabama”. Cedar Creek is a common name outside this county.
